Singer D4vd arrested in murder of 14-year-old girl months after she was found dead in his car
In September of last year, police in Los Angeles, CA, were called to a tow lot where they made a grim discovery. Inside the trunk of an impounded Tesla were the dismembered and heavily decomposed remains of a young girl, contained in two bags. The victim was later identified as 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Celeste’s family had reported her missing in April of 2024 when she was 13-years-old. It is unclear how long the she had been dead when she was found and her cause of death has not been identified, at least publicly.
The Tesla had been towed to the lot the previous month after it was abandoned for an unknown period of time in an upscale LA neighborhood. When the discovery was made, local authorities immediately identified the Tesla as belonging to pop singer D4vd, whose real name is David Burke. Burke, 21, was touring at the time and his publicist told the press that he was fully cooperating with authorities. However, in February 2026, LAPD said Burke was not cooperating and was being investigated in connection with the girl’s death. Today, authorities have arrested D4vd on suspicion of involvement in her murder. He is due in court on Monday.
According to reports, friends of Burke believed that Celeste was his girlfriend, and also believed she was a 19-year-old college student. Celeste had apparently disappeared on a few occasions before her final disappearance and her mother said she was dating someone called David.
