Supervisors addressed county business in quick meeting (8.17.2026)

All items were approved with minimal discussion. Points of interest include:

(Timestamp 3:25) Board discussed approval of a new public records policy. Board Attorney Chandler Rogers explained that the policies hadn’t been updated since 2012. Rogers said the new policy would be simplified for the benefit of the public and new rates for copies, etc., would be included.

(Timestamp 4:25) Board discussed bids to purchase a truck used by the Myrtle Volunteer Fire Department. This was a flatbed truck with rust and engine problems. One bid was received from Shane McMillan for $850. The board accepted the bid.

(Timestamp 7:30) The board then approved advertising for the budget hearing. No firm date was set but it will take place some time in September.

The meeting entered executive session. The board will reconvene Monday, September 7, 2026.
