Garry G. Ryan, 77

March 28, 1946  –  December 5, 2023

Nettleton-George Garry Ryan realized the promises of his faith and met his Creator from his Nettleton residence at 2:45 AM Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023 at his Nettleton residence after a brief illness. He was 77 years old. Born in Booneville on March 28, 1946 to the late George Holland Ryan and Annie Lou Hopper Ryan, he grew up there and began a full work career as an Upholster in the furniture industry. He retired from Custom Furniture in Jumpertown after over 25 years of loyal and faithful service. Garry loved his work, his work family and made it a point to dedicate his full energies to being a master Upholsterer. Garry married Patsy Hargett Ryan on November of 1991 and they spent 31 years loving, supporting and confiding in each other until his death. Garry and Patsy were faithful members of Victory Baptist Church in Nettleton where they took leadership roles in the Silver Saints program for senior enjoying the fellowship with fellow Church members. He loved training and showing horses in his later years. He enjoyed yard work, gardening and keeping his yard in perfect order including tending the flowers. An unashamed born again Christian, Garry now rests from his labors in eternal perfection.



A service celebrating his life will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Victory Baptist Church in Nettleton with his pastor, Bro. Robert Earl Fowkles officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4PM-6PM Friday, Dec. 9, 2023 at Victory Baptist and will continue at 11 AM Saturday until service time. Garry is survived by his wife, Patsy Ryan of Nettleton; his children, Keith Ryan (Christy) of Booneville, Heath Ryan (Carrie) of Kirkville; Scottie Ryan (Julia) of Tuscumbia, Ala.; his children from his union to Patsy, Renea Guthrie of of Baldwyn and Allen Guthrie (Symantha) of Cedar Grove, Tn.; a sister, Shelia Rakestraw of Tupelo; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Debbie Tittle.

Pallbearers will be Kody, Cory, Phil and Randy Ryan, Erik Wilson and Randy Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Harlow and Larry Todd.
