George McCullock Miner, 72

George McCullock Miner, a beloved mechanic, passed away peacefully at his home on November 22, 2023. Born on February 12, 1951, in Fayetteville, PA, George lived a fulfilling life marked by dedication to his craft and a deep love for his family and friends.



George’s passion for mechanics began at an early age. As a child, he would spend hours tinkering with broken toys and appliances, displaying an innate curiosity and talent for fixing things. This interest only grew stronger as he matured, leading him to pursue a career as a mechanic. George’s exceptional skills and unwavering work ethic quickly gained recognition in the community.

In addition to being a skilled mechanic, George was a proud Army veteran, having served for five 3/4  years. His commitment to his country exemplified his sense of duty and honor. George’s military service left an indelible mark on him, shaping him into the disciplined and selfless individual he became.

Outside of work and military service, George had many interests that brought him joy. He had a fondness for dirt track racing and could often be found cheering on his favorite drivers from the stands. George’s enthusiasm for these events was contagious, as he shared stories and insights with friends and family.

George had a tender heart for animals, especially his beloved cats. Their presence brought comfort and companionship to his life. He cared for them deeply and ensured they were always well taken care of.

When it came to relaxation, George enjoyed working on cars as well as solving puzzles. These activities provided him with much-needed solace after long days at the garage. His dedication to perfecting his craft extended beyond the professional realm into his personal time.

One of George’s favorite pastimes was reading books by Jack Reachee. The author’s captivating storytelling captivated George’s imagination and allowed him to escape into different worlds whenever he opened one of Reacher’s novels. The literary adventures he embarked on became cherished memories for George.

Friends and family will gather to honor George’s memory at a Memorial Service to be held on November 28, 2023, at Glenfield Funeral Home located at 101 N. Denton Road, New Albany, MS 38652. The service will commence at 6:00 PM and conclude at 7:00 PM. It will be a time for loved ones to share stories and reminisce about the joyful moments spent with George.

George McCullock Miner will forever be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his craft, his profound love for his cats, his passion for reading Steve Clancey’s books, and the joy he found in working on cars and solving puzzles. His legacy as a skilled mechanic and devoted friend leaves an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace, knowing that his memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of all who loved him.
