James Gable, 70

March 18, 1953 – November 24, 2023

James Delbert Gable died Friday, November 24, 2023, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. A lifelong Tupelo native, he was born March 18, 1953, to Julius Isaac Gable and Vera Mattie Blankenship Gable. Until his health no longer allowed, he was a self-employed plumber, who could often be found hanging out at the supply house. James enjoyed traveling, politics, and history. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Verona.

James is survived by his son, Ike Gable (Deanna); three grandchildren, Jacob, Davis Claire, and Anna Meryn Gable; two sisters, June McDivitt, and Mary Evelyn Howard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and six siblings, Margaret Hutcheson, Joann Dunaway, Betty Raines, Johnny Gable, Jimmy Gable, and Jerry Gable.

Private family graveside services will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery.
