James Louis Anthony, “Honey”, was born May 31, 1947, to the late Perry Anthony, Sr. and Anner Rosser Anthony in Byhalia, MS.
On Wednesday, February 1, 2023, he passed away at his residence in Memphis, TN.
James Louis Anthony was a member of Hearn Grove M.B. Church in Byhalia, MS, where he was a member of the male chorus and former deacon. He was a Boy Scoutmaster, loved traveling and being around his family, he was a Los Angeles Lakers fan and enjoyed watching Westerns.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: wife Carol Robertson Anthony of Memphis, TN; three sons: James Marcus Anthony of Tampa, FL, Brandon Anthony and Randy Robertson both of Memphis, TN; two daughters: Lesia Porter of Lake Center, MS and Tamekia Elliott (Jerry) of Ashland, MS; five brothers; Charles Anthony (Bessie) of Byhalia, MS, S.T. Anthony (Bobbie) of Memphis, TN, Clarence Anthony (Sharmaine) of Round Rock, TX, Theodore Anthony of Byhalia, MS, and Phillip Anthony (Michelle) of Killeen, TX; three sisters: Anner Marr, Angela Pye both of Byhalia, MS, and Lashanda Smith of Olive Branch, MS, 13 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Perry Anthony, Sr. and Anner Rosser Gatewood, five brothers: Robert Gatewood, Willie Anthony, Perry Anthony, Jr., Minister Oliver Anthony, and Frank Anthony; one sister Bobbie Anthony.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Friday February 10, 2023, at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 North Memphis Street, Holly Springs, MS 38635
Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Hearn Grove M.B. Church, 919 Deer Creek Road, Byhalia, MS 38611.
Burial will follow at Hearn Grove M.B. Church Cemetery in Byhalia, MS.
Serenity Funeral Home of Holly Springs, MS, is in charge of arrangements.
