Jimmy Mayes Reed, 66

July 6, 1957 – August 30, 2023

Jimmy Mayes Reed, 66, departed this life on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. He was born July 6, 1957 to the late Hendric Mayes and Flora Mae Butler Reed. Jimmy was a truck driver and worked for XPO Logistics for several years. He loved Jesus and his church family at Center Baptist Church where Jimmy was a deacon and choir member. He enjoyed drag racing, and his favorite vehicle was a black Chevy truck. Family was important to Jimmy and he loved his family dearly. He was overjoyed knowing he lived to see his first grandchild, Mamie Ann Reed. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed beyond measure.
Services to honor Jimmy’s life will be held at Center Baptist Church on Sunday, September 3, 2023. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. with the service beginning at 3:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by Bro. Jared Busby and Bro. Mike Brazeal.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Lisa Daniels Reed; one daughter, Sarah Kwok (Lawrence) of Vancouver, Canada; one son, Nathan Reed (Bailey) of Ingomar; three sisters, Deborah Chism (Doc), Shirley Chism (Cotton) and Barbara Harrison (Wayne); his granddaughter, Mamie Ann Reed; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Walter Daniels, Doc Chism, Kevin Chism, Coty Chism, Hunter Harrison, Jason Ralph, Mike Grisham and Charles Clifton.
