Wilson Nettleton, 69

January 30, 1954 – August 30, 2023

Tupelo–Wilson Joseph Nettleton, III, 69, of Tupelo, MS passed away on August 30, 2023. He was born January 30, 1954, to Wilson Joseph Nettleton, Jr., and Marie (Hottinger) Nettleton in Metairie, Louisiana. Wilson, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, is survived by his wife, Vickie; son, Wil (Mary) Nettleton; daughters, Elizabeth Nettleton, and Michelle (Darrell) Cleveland; grandsons, Walker and Graham Cleveland, Cooper Nettleton; and granddaughters, Story Nettleton and Lucy Cleveland; brother, Les (Bean) Nettleton; and sister, Nancye (Michael) Sciortino.

Wilson will always be remembered for his radio voice, his love of a great story, and all things Star Wars and science fiction. He enjoyed sharing the New Orleans culture in which he grew up (always quick to give a “Laissez les bon temps rouler”). His family has cherished the extra time they had with him after his stroke in 2009. His cheerfulness and sense of humor was evident to the very end.

A private family graveside memorial will be held for Wilson at Lee Memorial Park. Pegues Funeral Directors has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Cleveland, Wil Nettleton, Walker and Graham Cleveland, and Cooper Nettleton.

Memorials may be made to West Jackson Street Baptist Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
