NETTLETON – Michael Dee Sheffield departed this life on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023, after a long battle with diabetes. He was 31. Born in Tupelo on June 7, 1992 to his parents who survive, Wendell and Brenda Wright Sheffield, Michael attended Nettleton Schools. He followed in his dad’s steps and was a house painter until his health failed. Michael loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, but mostly painting houses.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 2 PM Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors with Justin Randolph and Michael Crossen speaking. A private family burial will follow in the Conwill-Goodwin Cemetery near the Cason community. Visitation will be from Noon-service time Monday only at the funeral home in Tupelo. Michael is survived by his parents, Wendell and Brenda Sheffield; his sons, Mason L. Sheffield and Michael Sheffield, Jr., both of Pontotoc; his brothers, Boo Sheffield and Joe Captaiine, both of Nettleton; a sister, Crystal Gayle Sheffield Dunsford of Nettleton; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, T. C. Sheffield and Kathryn Sheffield and Zannie Wright and Clem Dizzine.
