Patsy Crockett Duke, 86

June 18, 1937 – March 19, 2024

Patsy Crockett Duke, age 86, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the North Mississippi Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.  Patsy was born June 18, 1937 in Tupelo, the daughter of Luther E. “Pete” Crockett and Lucille Foster Crockett.  She was a 1955 graduate of Tupelo High School and was a longtime resident of the Chesterville Community.  In 1957, she married the love of her life, Charles R. Duke and they enjoyed 67 years together. The majority of Patsy’s working career was spent as an accounting assistant for Billy H. Breland, CPA.  A woman of strong faith, she was a dedicated member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and worked in the nursery in her younger days.  She was also very active in the Open Door Sunday School Class for many years.  Patsy loved being outdoors whether she was gardening or sitting on her favorite beach reading her favorite book.

Patsy leaves behind her husband, Charles; her two children, Todd Duke of Louisville, Texas and Traci Duke and husband, Cary Glotzer of Nashville, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Cole, Camryn, and Payton Glotzer; and two sisters, Linda Crockett Dillard and husband, James of Birmingham Ridge and Nancy Crockett Hebert of Southaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents.



Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Pegues, Tupelo.  Services honoring Patsy’s memory will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Jefferson Street Chapel with Dr. Bert Harper and Dr. Keith Cochkran officiating.  A private family graveside service will follow in Tupelo Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Bell, Bill Benson, Tom Tindall, Ted Wood, Ted Ferguson, and Bob Pitman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Langston, Johnny Carroll, Shirley Harwood, Debbie Tindall, Judy Ready, and Erma Newell.
