New Albany’s America 250 celebration to be tomorrow at the Union County Courthouse
Saturday June 27, at 4 Pm the America 250 Celebration will kick off at the Court house.
A Pet Parade will begin the Celebration at 4PM. At 5 PM there will be an opening ceremony that includes a welcoming by New Albany Mayor Jeff Olson, Presentation of the Colors, the National Anthem, and a tribute to veterans.
There will be live music from 6PM to 9PM, when the evening will conclude with fireworks. The day will also include kids’ activities, pony rides face painting, tattoos. A variety of food from local community organizations will be available. For the first 250 to claim them, New Albany Main Street will be serving hot dogs. The American Legion Ladies Auxilliary will be selling desserts. Proceeds from all food sales will go to the sellers’ missions and youth departments.
A new event, Patriot 5K Run will take place at 8AM. Call 662-538-7774 for information on registration.
